THE EDIT BEHIND THE EDIT

Our Story

The Authentic Edit began with a question: “How do I know it’s actually authentic?”

For years, I was a makeup lover and a consumer who genuinely cared about what I was putting on my skin. I bought products from trusted retailers like Sephora and other authorized U.S. beauty stores, and over time, I became familiar with what the real products looked, felt, smelled, and performed like.

Then came the frustrating part.

I started coming across products being sold locally as “100% original,” yet something didn’t always feel right. I bought products from different vendors, and after having a few disappointing experiences, I began comparing them side by side with products I had personally purchased from Sephora.

The differences were enough to make me question everything.

So I started asking a very simple question whenever someone claimed their products were authentic:

“Do you have the receipt?”

And surprisingly often, there wasn’t one.

That stayed with me.

Because when you’re paying a premium for luxury beauty, “trust me” shouldn’t have to be the proof.

I began looking more closely at where products came from, how they were sourced, and what genuine proof of purchase actually looked like. I realized that what I wanted as a customer was something very simple: transparency.

And that’s exactly what I wanted to create.

So, I created The Authentic Edit.

Every product we source comes directly from established U.S. retailers, including Sephora, Ulta, IPSY, and many more we keep the original purchase receipts as proof of where your product came from.

Because authenticity shouldn’t be something you have to take our word for.

It should be something you can see.

The Authentic Edit is for the person who doesn’t just want a beautiful product — she wants to know exactly what she’s buying, where it came from, and why she can trust it.

No “trust me.”

Just proof.
